Mulobezi District in Western Province has received a major development boost following the handover of government investments worth K10.3 million.
The package includes heavy-duty equipment expected to transform road rehabilitation and improve service delivery across the district.
District Commissioner Inonge Inambao handed over the investments, which were secured through the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and the Zambia Devolution Support Programme (ZDSP).
Ms Inambao described the development as a clear demonstration of the Government’s commitment to bringing development closer to the people.
She said the investments were part of President Hakainde Hichilema’s administration’s efforts to strengthen local authorities, promote decentralisation, and foster equitable development.

According to Ms Inambao, the equipment and capital would enhance the council’s capacity to provide essential services, rehabilitate roads, and stimulate economic development across all wards.
“This investment demonstrates the Government’s commitment to decentralisation, improved service delivery, and equitable development,” Ms Inambao said.
She urged the local authority and communities to protect and maintain the machinery to ensure it serves the public for years to come.
The District Commissioner also appealed to traditional leaders to support the local authority as it embarks on road rehabilitation works using the newly acquired fleet.
Council Secretary Ireen Kayuni described the handover as a significant milestone for Mulobezi District.
She added that the local authority remained committed to accountability, the prudent management of public resources, and working with communities and stakeholders to achieve sustainable development.
Barotse Royal Establishment (BRE) representative Induna Mwanasibyu thanked the Government for the investment, noting that the district had received such heavy-duty equipment for the first time.
The traditional leader said the machinery would significantly enhance the council’s ability to undertake roadworks and improve service delivery throughout Mulobezi.
