President Bola Tinubu has ordered an investigation into a second fake government agency uncovered in Nigeria in recent weeks.

The latest agency, called the National Brands Development and Made in Nigeria Special Project Office, was operating illegally from inside a government building in Abuja.

Authorities say it was headed by George Buchi Nwabueze, who reportedly used four variations of his name and is now the subject of an arrest warrant.

Three senior government officials have been suspended in connection with the case. Nigeria’s Independent Corrupt Practices Commission says the discovery came directly from its ongoing investigation into the first fake agency — the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council — which had operated for years, met with government officials and accessed public funds. Investigations are ongoing.
