Nigerian-based Prophet Joshua Iginla has described opposition leader Brian Mundubile as a great man who performed extremely well in his first presidential election, while urging him to respond to the outcome with peace and dignity.
Speaking during his Sunday Service, Prophet Iginla acknowledged the effort Mundubile put into the election, telling him that he should walk away from the contest with his shoulders held high and his feet firmly on the ground.
“If I were you, I would move with my shoulders tall, with my feet firm on the ground, give a handshake of peace and move forward,” Prophet Iginla said.
He urged Mundubile to give peace a chance and said any grievances arising from the election should be pursued through legitimate judicial and constitutional avenues.
Prophet Iginla said he was not suggesting that the deaths recorded during the election period should be ignored, stressing that there should be accountability and an explanation of how, where and when people lost their lives.
However, he emphasised that Zambia is bigger than anybody’s personal ambition, urging Mundubile to put the peace and stability of the country first.
He further cautioned that it would be better for Mundubile to be perceived as having lost an election than to allow political disagreements to push the country into war or disorder.
“A great man you are,” Prophet Iginla told Mundubile, encouraging him to choose the path of peace and move forward.
Prophet Iginla then turned his attention to young prophets in Zambia, urging them to be careful with the messages they deliver in the aftermath of the election.
He cautioned prophets against using their platforms to preach bitterness, division and hatred, saying the role of the church should be to promote peace rather than deepen political tensions.
He also reminded young prophets that giving an election prophecy does not automatically make one great, urging them to remain humble and focus on preaching the Gospel.
For those who may feel they got their prophecies wrong, Prophet Iginla encouraged them not to respond with bitterness, but to remain humble and continue preaching messages that promote peace and unity
