RUSSIA: PUTIN SAYS RUSSIAN FORCES HAVE ACCELERATED OFFENSIVE OPERATIONS

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that Russian forces have accelerated their offensive operations in Ukraine and continue to successfully achieve the objectives of what Moscow calls its “special military operation.”

Putin made the remarks during an interview with Pavel Zarubin of Vesti, according to Russian state media.

The Russian president’s comments come as Moscow continues to report advances by its forces along several sectors of the front. Putin portrayed the ongoing military campaign as progressing toward its stated objectives, while Russian forces maintain pressure on Ukrainian positions

Kyiv, meanwhile, continues to reject Moscow’s characterization of the battlefield and has repeatedly emphasized its efforts to defend its territory and inflict losses on advancing Russian forces.

Putin’s latest statement signals that the Kremlin intends to maintain military pressure rather than scale back its offensive operations, as the war continues with no comprehensive peace agreement in sight.
