UPND Lusaka Province Information and Publicity Secretary James Sichomba has praised the government’s Rural Electrification Authority (REA) for delivering power to hard-to-reach rural communities, describing the initiative as a life-changing intervention that is unlocking economic potential and improving essential services.

In a statement, Mr Sichomba said the connection of electricity to previously underserved areas demonstrates that the administration of President Hakainde Hichilema is serious about inclusive development.

He noted that reliable power will stimulate business activity, enable small-scale entrepreneurs to expand operations, and allow them to contribute meaningfully to the Grow Zambia agenda.

The Lusaka province IPS specifically commended REA for extending its reach into the most remote parts of the country, ensuring that access to electricity is not limited by geography.

He highlighted the availability of power is already strengthening the operations of health facilities and schools in these communities, improving service delivery where it is needed most.

Mr Sichomba also appealed to President Hichilema to increase support for the Rural Electrification Authority so that every community, regardless of location, can gain access to electricity.
