Ukraine Reportedly Targets Russia’s Plesetsk Cosmodrome for the First Time
Ukrainian drones reportedly reached Russia’s Arkhangelsk region for the first time, where the Plesetsk military cosmodrome is located, nearly 1,900 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.
According to Russian and Ukrainian media reports, the attack allegedly targeted “strategic facilities.” Plesetsk is used to launch military satellites and various Russian rockets, including the Soyuz-2 and Angara systems.
Regional authorities said 40 drones were destroyed over the region. No deaths or injuries were reported, while the potential impact on the cosmodrome remains unclear.
If confirmed, the incident would mark another demonstration of Ukraine’s ability to conduct long-range drone operations against targets far from the front lines.
