UKRAINE’S NORTHERN ALLIES ARRIVE IN KYIV—HERE IS WHO IS PRESENT
Six European leaders are now confirmed in Kyiv:
▪️ Denmark — Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen
▪️ Estonia — Prime Minister Kristen Michal
▪️ Finland — President Alexander Stubb
▪️ Latvia — Prime Minister Andris Kulbergs
▪️ Lithuania — President Gitanas Nausėda
▪️ Norway — Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre
German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul is also in the capital, while additional senior representatives have arrived whose names have not yet been publicly released. European Council President António Costa is expected to participate in person in Monday’s meeting.
They are here to mark Ukraine’s Flag Day and 35th Independence Day, meet President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and hold a Ukraine–Nordic-Baltic summit. The leaders will discuss the battlefield, urgent air-defense requirements, military and energy support through winter, sanctions against Russia and Ukraine’s future security guarantees.
On August 24, many will also participate in the Coalition of the Willing meeting, where partners are expected to coordinate the next stage of support and determine what they are prepared to contribute to Ukraine’s long-term defense.
Their presence carries a clear message: while Russia attempts to terrorize Ukraine during its national holidays, Ukraine is not celebrating alone. Its allies have come directly to Kyiv.
