Vice-President W.K. Mutale-Nalumango has pledged to work tirelessly to justify the confidence Zambians have placed in the New Dawn Government and ensure that the benefits of national development reach every province, district, community and household.

Ms Mutale-Nalumango also recommitted herself to serving every Zambian without discrimination, adding that her duty was not only to those who supported the Government but to the entire nation.

“To those who entrusted us with another five years, thank you for believing in us. We will work tirelessly to justify your confidence and to ensure that the benefits of national development reach every province, district, community and household,” she said.

Ms Mutale-Nalumango said in a Facebook post that Zambia was a common home for all citizens and that the Government would continue working with Zambians to build the country.

She said the renewed mandate given to President Hakainde Hichilema and herself for the 2026–2031 term was a sacred responsibility which they accepted with humility, commitment and determination.

She thanked Zambians who participated in the electoral process regardless of how they voted, adding that their participation demonstrated the strength of the country’s democracy and desire for peace, unity and development.

The Vice-President also expressed gratitude to supporters of the New Dawn Government for their unwavering confidence, encouragement and sacrifices throughout the electoral process.

Ms Mutale-Nalumango urged Zambians to put the elections behind them and unite around the work ahead as there was much to be done to improve the country.

“Let us therefore put the election behind us and unite around the work ahead. There is much to be done, and our collective efforts are needed to create greater opportunities for our young people, strengthen our economy, improve livelihoods and leave a better Zambia for future generations,” she said.

The Government, she said, remained committed to ensuring that development translated into opportunities and improved livelihoods for citizens across the country.

Ms Mutale-Nalumango thanked Zambians for the trust placed in her and herself and prayed for God’s continued blessing, protection and guidance as they served the nation for a second term.
