By Justine Akakulubelwa

The Civil Service Commission has extended the verification deadline for applicants seeking health worker jobs from September 11 to October 9, 2026.

Addressing the media in Lusaka today, Commission Chairperson CHOOLWE BEYANI said the extension follows concerns from applicants over the limited verification period, as well as the financial and logistical challenges of travelling to provincial and district health offices.

Dr. BEYANI said verification will continue at provincial health offices for medical doctors and pharmacists, while applicants in other categories will verify their details at district health offices.

He, however, clarified that verification is not mandatory and that applicants who are satisfied that the information they submitted is accurate, and who have received confirmation from ZAMPOST that their applications were dispatched to their preferred districts, will not be disadvantaged for opting out of the process.

Meanwhile, Dr. BEYANI said the Commission is yet to announce the total number of applications received for the 2,600 available positions, adding that the information will be released in due course.

On the recruitment of health worker volunteers, Dr. BEYANI said validation of applicants’ documents is currently underway across the country.
