WRITING ON THE WALL: Jared Kushner secretly meets Hakeem Jeffries as Trump’s inner circle prepares for Republicans to LOSE THE HOUSE

That’s quite a contrast with Trump’s public treatment of the Democratic leader. He’s called Jeffries a “thug” and “low IQ,” mocked him with a racist AI-generated sombrero meme.

Behind closed doors, his own inner circle is accepting the reality of defeat and preparing to work with Jeffries as speaker.

House Speaker Mike Johnson sounded less than thrilled when Fox News asked him about the meeting Sunday, dismissing Kushner as someone who “hedges his bets.”

“I’m telling you what, you better not bet against the House Republicans,” Johnson insisted.

But that is precisely what the fearful minion Kushner appear to be doing.

Nearly every poll cited by the Times currently puts Republicans at a disadvantage in the midterms, and losing the House would expose Trump to aggressive Democratic investigations and congressional oversight.

For his part, Jeffries has already promised to “hold the crooks accountable” if Democrats take power.

Republicans can keep publicly predicting victory all they want. Jared Kushner is already secretly sitting down with the man who gets the speaker’s gavel if they lose. That tells us all we need to know.
