The Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) has suspended Biogenix Limited and Leisely Howards Limited from participating in public procurement for one year following their failure to fulfil contractual obligations with the Ministry of Education.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, ZPPA Assistant Public Relations Office Lucy Lumbe says investigations established that Biogenix Limited failed to deliver laboratory equipment and reagents for 82 secondary schools under the Zambia Education Enhancement Project (ZEEP), despite receiving an advance payment of K239,494.
The suspension, effective October 23, 2026, was imposed after the company failed to deliver the goods within the contract period.
Meanwhile, Leisely Howards Limited was suspended over its failure to supply home economics equipment worth K8.6 million to ZEEP-funded schools.
Although the company received a 25 percent advance payment of K2.15 million in December 2024, it failed to deliver within the agreed 12 to 16 weeks.
Its subsequent partial deliveries in June and July 2025 were rejected for failing to meet contractual specifications.
The suspension takes effect on January 22, 2027, after the company’s existing one-year suspension expires.
