Armenia Prepares for Russians Fleeing Another Mobilization

ARMENIA PREPARES FOR RUSSIANS FLEEING ANOTHER MOBILIZATION

Armenia will not obstruct Russians attempting to enter the country during another wave of mobilization and would be prepared to assist them, Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan reportedly said.

The statement comes as Russia’s State Duma elections approach and warnings grow that the Kremlin could launch a major mobilization afterward, potentially calling up hundreds of thousands of additional soldiers for the war against Ukraine.

Armenia clearly remembers the exodus that followed Putin’s “partial mobilization” in 2022, when large numbers of Russians fled through neighboring countries rather than be sent to Ukraine.

Even Armenia understands what may be coming. When neighboring governments begin discussing how to receive the next wave of fleeing Russians, Moscow’s reassurances are no longer the only message worth hearing.
