Court gives soldier 3 months to regulate sexual appetite or else…

A ZAMBIA Army soldier whose wife is no longer able to withstand his domestic abuse, lack of care as well as his grueling and punishing sexual demands has been given three months to change his ways or lose his marriage.

The ultimatum was given to one Geofrey Kasaji of Lusaka’s Appolo by Matero Local Court Magistrate Harriet Mulenga when his 32-year old wife, Patricia Mwiche came crying that their marriage, be dissolved immediately otherwise her husband’s baby-making bazooka would soon render her a cripple or worse, result in her untimely death.

Mwiche’s testimony triggered echoes of shock and disbelief from the court’s public gallery when she revealed that her husband usually demanded sex at least 35 times a week, which translates into five times, daily.

In furthering her testimony, Mwiche complained that during her marriage to Kasaji, she had endured nonstop sexual bombardment from her military husband whose regular “attacks” were as if he was an Israeli soldier on a mission in Lebanon.

The mother of two revealed that on his off days from work, Kasaji usually orders that she suspends the performance of household chores so that all her energies are used in providing him with waist pleasures.

She said his huge sexual appetite knows no mother’s day.

Bedsides the punishing bedroom rota, Mwiche also complained that all marital disputes with Kasaji, always ended up with her receiving ear-damaging insults along with a savage beating as if she was an illegal gold miner who had ignored Zambia Army orders to vacate Mufumbwe.

Mwiche said Kasaji was an irresponsible husband who left his family to starve despite being in gainful employment, adding that; to feed herself and the couple’s two children, she had to move from house to house in the baracks washing and cleaning people’s property.

On being given an opportunity to speak, Kasaji readily accepted his wife’s revelations of his gangatuam sexual appetite but defended it by saying it was part of his tradition.

When asked which tradition demanded that a husband should have sex with his wife 35 times a week, Kasaji had no plausible response, just like when queried about his abuse and refusal to provide for his family.

Kasaji pleaded with the court not dissolve his marriage because he still loved his wife.

The soldier swore upon the Fugu that if the court did not dismantle his marriage, he would transform himself into a caring and romantic husband.

After hearing both parties magistrate Mulenga condemned Kasaji’s behavior and questioned the pre-marital lessons he underwent.

“The plaintiff is in an abusive marriage, I do not know what tradition you are referring to but learn to give a woman space to breathe,” magistrate Mulenga advised Kasaji.

She expressed disappointed that Kasaji was not only being violent but also not providing for his wife and two children, and for failing to build a house despite serving in the Central African Republic.

Magistrate magistrate adjourned the matter to July 31 for a possible reconciliation on condition that Kasaji changed his ways for the better.

“You are too young, there is no such thing as intambi, sleeping with a woman during her periods,” magistrate Mulenga reprimanded Kasaji.

“Being a military person, don’t think that you have a gun where you shoot anytime you want as if your wife is a criminal. Give her a chance to rest. As a public servant I am disappointed in you, there is no way that this woman can be moving around the compound to wash for people for her to feed the family and herself.”
