Kellogg Urges Trump to Leverage Middle East Oil in Pressure Campaign Against China
L Keith Kellogg has urged President Donald Trump to use U.S. influence over Middle Eastern oil supplies as leverage against China, according to a statement attributed to Kellogg.
Kellogg argued that the United States controls significant influence over a large share of the Middle Eastern oil that China depends on, suggesting Washington could use that position as an economic and strategic tool in dealing with Beijing.
He also urged Trump to increase pressure on Russia over the war in Ukraine while seeking to prevent North Korea from supplying Moscow with additional troops and missiles.
The recommendations reflect a broader strategy aimed at applying coordinated pressure on China, Russia and North Korea, while using U.S. influence over global energy markets as a potential instrument of leverage.
The proposals come amid growing geopolitical competition between Washington and Beijing, alongside continued Russian military operations in Ukraine and deepening military cooperation between Moscow and Pyongyang.
