NRPUP 2026 presidential candidate Brian Mundubile and his running mate, Makebi Zulu, are today, October 13, 2026, expected to make their third appearance before the Solwezi Magistrate’s Court in a case in which they face two counts of seditious practices.
The duo is expected to appear for a ruling on a preliminary issue raised by the defence challenging the court’s jurisdiction to hear the matter, on grounds that the alleged offences were committed in Lusaka and not Solwezi.
The ruling is expected to determine the way forward, with the accused also expected to take plea and the trial potentially commencing, depending on the outcome of the jurisdictional challenge.
The matter was adjourned to today after the State opposed the defence’s application to allow the accused to give oral evidence in support of the jurisdiction challenge.
