Police on the Copperbelt have launched investigations into the disappearance of one thousand three hundred and thirty five boxes of fish worth over 1.3 million Kwacha.

Copperbelt Police Commissioner RAE HAMOONGA says the consignment went missing while in transit from Namibia to Kasumbalesa Border.

Mr. HAMOONGA says the theft occurred between the 13th and 25th of August, this year.

He said the truck and trailer with Namibian registrations numbers was being driven by a Zimbabwean national, who upon reaching Kasumbalesa on the 25th of August, allegedly stopped responding to calls.

Mr. HAMOONGA added that the truck was later found abandoned near a Filling Station on the 26th of August, with the entire consignment and the Driver missing.

He said the driver is suspected to have committed the theft with other unknown persons.
