Kulima Tower Bus Station in Lusaka has announced that 100 buses will be provided free of charge to ferry members of the public to and from the venue of President Hakainde Hichilema’s inauguration.

According to a statement issued by Kulima Tower Bus Station Chairman Nicolas Father Banda, the initiative is in celebration of President Hichilema’s victory and his administration’s policies, including the provision of free education, social support programmes, the removal of cadreism from bus stations and markets, the extension of driving licence renewal from three to five years, and the increase of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) from K1.6 million to K40 million.

The buses will be available for boarding at Kulima Tower Bus Station from 07:00 hours on the day of the inauguration.

Banda said the station looks forward to celebrating the occasion with members of the public in a peaceful and orderly manner.

The announcement comes as preparations continue for the inauguration ceremony following President Hichilema’s victory in the 2026 presidential election.
