CONGOLESE striker Idris Mbombo has left Nkana Football Club after his contract expired, the Kitwe giants confirmed.

Mbombo is among five players departing Nkana ahead of the new MTN Super League season. Defender Dieugo Apanane and midfielder Joe Wallace Banda have also left following the expiry of their contracts.

Goalkeeper Patrick Chooma and midfielder Francis Zulu have returned to their parent clubs after loan spells at Nkana Stadium ended.

Club media officer Mike Mubanga confirmed the departures in a statement Saturday. “Nkana Football Club confirms that defender Dieugo Apanane, midfielder Joe Wallace Banda and striker Idris Mbombo will leave the club following the expiry of their contracts,” Mubanga said.

“The club also confirms the conclusion of the loan spells of goalkeeper Patrick Chooma and midfielder Francis Zulu, who will return to their parent club,” he added.

Mubanga said Nkana thanked all five players for their service and wished them well. The club said further updates on squad preparations for the new season would be communicated in due course.
