By Chansa Kunda The Zambia Women’s National Volleyball Team beat Mali 3-1 to register their first win at the ongoing Women’s African Nations Championship in Nairobi, Kenya. Zambia took the first set with a six-point lead, with the score ending 25-19. MALI hit back to reclaim the second set, winning 25-22. Zambia stepped up in the third set in a tightly contested round that ended 25-26. The win sees Zambia advance to the knockout phase, where they will face either Ghana or Nigeria. Speaking after the game, Zambia Women’s Volleyball Team Coach ARNOLD SIMULEZI praised the team for a spirited performance. SIMULEZI said the team has gained valuable lessons in the group stage that will help them heading into the knockout phase.
