The Lusaka City Council (LCC) has seized merchandise from street vendors trading illegally at the Zambia State Insurance Corporation (ZSIC) frontage along Independence Avenue in Kamwala.

The seizure was conducted today Friday, October 23, 2026, following several warnings issued to the traders.

In a statement on the Facebook page, the Council says it will continue enforcing order and cleanliness in Lusaka’s Central Business District and other parts of the city.

LCC has advised all traders to operate from designated markets as it intensifies efforts to restore order in public spaces.

The operation forms part of the Council’s ongoing efforts to curb illegal street vending and maintain a clean and orderly city under an operation called Operation Clear Path.,
