The Duchess of Edinburgh has praised the collaboration and partnership between Zambia and the United Kingdom in advancing education and skills exchange.
The Duchess says education remains a crucial component of any society and investing in it will enhance economic growth.
She was speaking during an exhibition reception held in her honor at the British High Commissioner’s residence in Lusaka last night.
The Duchess of Edinburgh also admired government’s dedication and commitment to providing free education to all learners.
Meanwhile, British High Commissioner to Zambia RABECCA TERZEON said the reception was meant to celebrate the role that education plays in the partnership between the two countries.
Ms. TERZEON said many Zambian students have been sponsored to acquire education in the UK and the initiative will continue for many years to come.
And Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary Administration NORIANA MUNEKU said the free education law has transformed the lives of many learners, as government now aims to merge access to education with quality learning.
