By Nyambe Nalishebo Government has disbursed 107 million Kwacha to public universities and statutory bodies under the Ministry of Education to support operations. Ministry of Education Assistant Director and Head of Communications KUNDA MANDO told ZNBC News that the funds were released to ensure that the institutions run their affairs effectively. Ms. MANDO said beneficiary institutions include the Zambia Qualifications Authority, Higher Education, Loans and Scholarship Board, and the Higher Education Authority. She said the disbursement is done on a monthly basis to enable the institutions to operate smoothly and deliver services to learners. Ms. MANDO added that government has also released funds to schools, including paying support staff such as gardeners and cleaners, as well as meeting other operational requirements.
